Clinical Biochemistry

Clinical Biochemistry is the area of chemistry and biology that is generally concerned with analysis of bodily fluids and detection of various chemical components for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

  1. It is an applied form of biochemistry.
  2. Various chemical test are to be performed in this field.
  3. Biochemistry is also used in techniques that help to understand the interactions, metabolism, and functions of biomolecules.
  4. Important biomolecules like proteins, carbohydrates, fats, nucleic acid, vitamins, etc. are essential structural and physiological components of living organisms.
